Cranberry Promenade Plan Expected to be Approved

It sounds like there will be some new movement on the Cranberry Promenade project at 19 and Ogleview Dr. Cranberry supervisors said they expect to approve the plans at their Dec 6 meeting. In the Post-Gazette article a representative of the shopping center hopes to get highway improvement permits finalized this winter and break ground in the spring. However, it sounds like some neighboring land owners could play a role in delaying this as they negotiate on the shopping center road access. Cabela’s Pulls Out of Town Center Plans

It sounds like Cabela’s has decided to cancel it’s plans to be a part of the Cranberry Town Center. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean there are more delays in the Town Center plans.

Cranberry Township Long Range Plan Expanding to 2030

Cranberry Township has decided to launch a project to take the exhisting 1995 plan that took the township into 2015 and expand it out to 2030. This is due to some unexpected events and growth of the county since the original plan. The planning team recently sent out a direct mail piece as well as launched a new website to track the progress of the planning project. As part of this planning process, the Township invited residents to be part of a “Citizen’s Advisory Panel” which will participate and provide feedback throughout the planning process. I was excited to learn that I was selected to be part of this panel and will be attending my first meeting next week. I’ll keep you posted on how that goes.

Rumors of Cabela’s Opening to Cranberry

Cabela’s, an outdoor retailer, appears to be considering the proposed Cranberry Town Center for a expansion into Western Pensilvania. More details can be found on the 7 fields blog.

Streets of Cranberry Outparcels Under Construction

Construction is underway on one of the outparcels at the Streets of Cranberry. In looking at the site plan the proposed tenants for the building currently under construction are:

Portrait Inovations
Stride Rite
Optique
T-Mobile
Unidentified Retail Store

On the oposite end of the parking lot there is another outparcel that is slated to be a free standing restaurant. The site plan does not indicate which restaurant, but I have heard that this might be Sonic.

Cranberry Town Center Pushed to 2010

I just found a posting on the Simon website (Simon is the developer of Cranberry Town Center) projecting that the 1st phase of the center won’t open until Fall of 2010. Previously they were showing this as Fall 2009. Bummer!

The Shoppes at Cranberry

I just noticed a sign off Rt 228 near 79 for The Shoppes at Cranberry. (This may have already been there, but this is the first I noticed it) It looks like this will be a 250,000 sq.ft. Retail Center slated to be completed in the first quarter of 2008; The website says some site plans will be available in the next few weeks. Right now there’s not much info on the website, but I’ll keep an eye on it. Here’s the site they appear to still be working on: The Shoppes at Cranberry.

Route 228 Improvement Project

I just received this update about the improvements planing for Route 228:

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Engineering District 10-0 has recommended Alternative 1 as the Recommended Preferred Alternative for the Route 228 corridor. This alternative follows the existing alignment of Route 228. For more details, please check out the most recent updates to the Route 228 Improvement Project website.

The Shoppes at Cranberry Ridge

Off Again! the signs are down for the new development. Not sure what’s happening with this one, but not able to find anything online. Oh well… There does appear to be a new project on the other side of Victory Family Church that is slated to break ground in 2010 which will include a Sheetz and some office space.

It looks like this development is back on at least for now. The site now has a “Now Leasing” sign on it again and the website has been updated with a new site plan and a target opening date in Q3 of 2009. Here’s a link to the new site plan. No official tenants are identified in this document though. So, I’m not sure if McGinness Sisters is still a posibility.

It appears this project has been postponed. I noticed that the sign promoting the Shoppes at Cranberry Ridge has been replaced with a ”Land for Sale” sign. They are however removing a hill on the other side that is closser to the Victory Church which will allow for a larger complex whenever it does sell. Hopefully that will make it more attractive to a potential developer.

Located on the north end of 19 just north of Ehrman Rd, this is another small strip mall that will include McGinnis Sisters Special Food Store, restaurant, fast food, bank and retail. Here’s a link to some additional info: The Shoppes at Cranberry Ridge. As of April 24, they have only started grading this site. No structures have been started. I was not able to tell if they were actively working on the site or not. The documentation claims this will open in Q4 of 2007. This seems a little fast considering they haven’t started any buildings yet.

Shoppes at Adams Ridge
